Manager, Business & Legal Affairs, Chinese Language Content

The successful candidate must have fluency in English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both languages. Demonstrated native-level written proficiency in Chinese is required. This person must have experience advising on business and legal issues in the entertainment, media, and/or intellectual property industries. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the Chinese-language film or television industry in Taiwan (in licensing, production, financing, and/or distribution) is required. The successful candidate will also possess the following: Ability to take initiative and work independently Ability to work on a high volume of assignments under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize accordingly Curiosity and willingness to tackle matters outside their area of expertise Strong written and verbal communication skills (candor, honesty, tact) Ability to work closely with and manage outside counsel Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally Ability to think practically and be solution-oriented Adaptable negotiation style Serving as a business partner and key collaborator to Chinese-language content and marketing executives. Providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice. Deal structuring and contract drafting and negotiation in Chinese, with a focus on content licensing and acquisition, and on original content development and production Conducting industry and territory-specific research Working cross-functionally to maintain alignment between departments
