Job Title: Manager – TaxationLocation: Vikhroli, MumbaiExperience Required: 5–7 years of post-qualification experienceQualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)Role Summary: Candidate will be responsible for:- Managing all the aspects of Income Tax and GST from Strategic Tax Planning toCompliance to Litigations- Leading and mentoring junior members of the Taxation Team.- Liaise with Auditors, Consultants, and Stakeholders.- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Business, Supply Chain, IT etc.) to ensure smooth tax operationsKey Responsibilities-Indirect Taxation (GST)Compliance Management: Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returnsincluding GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-9/9C or other relevant forms as per GST Law.Reconciliations: Oversee reconciliations between books of accounts with filedreturns, Outward Data and GSTR-2B, to avoid mismatches and ensure a paritybetween requirements of Law vs Records maintained. Resolve issues promptly and implement corrective actions to prevent future compliance risks.Departmental Audits & Assessments: Handle GST audits and scrutinyassessments; review prepared replies, represent the company before authorities(directly or with consultants), document drafts and get notices/queries responded.Advisory Role: Evaluate GST impact on business transactions, contracts,imports/exports, and inter-company transactions.Vendor and Customer Management: Collaborate with vendors, customers, andother business partners to ensure smooth GST transactions, proper documentation,and issues resolution on a timely basis.Regulatory Updates: Keep track of the latest developments in Tax laws, rules, and regulations. Advise the finance team and relevant stakeholders on the implications of these updates and ensure necessary changes in processes and systems.Process Improvements: Recommend and implement process/systemimprovements to strengthen compliance and minimize risks.Cross-Functional Support: Work with procurement, supply chain, IT, Legal andbusiness teams to streamline processes, resolve ERP or API issues, implementefficient GST practices and ensure correct tax positions on transactions.Reporting to Management: Prepare comprehensive reports on GST and Income Tax compliance, including tax liabilities, credits, and refunds, to present tomanagement and regulatory authorities as required.Automation & Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements,automation, and eƯiciency enhancement within the organisation.Direct Taxation1. Manage end-to-end Direct Tax compliance including Audit, Computation, Return and Forms filing and review thereof.2. Handle assessments, appeals, and correspondence with tax authorities.3. Monitor changes in Direct Tax laws and assess their impact on the organization.4. Coordinate with internal teams to gather financial data necessary for taxcalculations and audit purposes.5. Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of tax provisions and deferred tax as per applicable accounting standards.6. Participate in tax-related projects and initiatives to improve tax processes andenhance compliance.Tax Planning & Advisory1. Identify opportunities for tax optimization within the legal framework.2. Obtain advisory support on corporate restructuring3. Evaluate the tax impact of new business initiatives.Desired Candidate Profile1. Chartered Accountant with 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in Directand Indirect taxation.2. Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act, GST Act, and relevant Rules/Regulations.3. Hands-on experience in managing tax assessments, audits, and litigation.4. Exposure to tax planning, advisory, and compliance in a corporate environment.5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within timelines.7. Team player with leadership skills.8. Proficiency in MS Office, relevant ERP and tools used for Compliance etc.
