Your day-to-day activities involve designing and executing experiments to develop and characterize new SLS materials, troubleshooting issues with existing materials, and collaborating with the engineering team to integrate new materials into Formlabs' product lines. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimizing SLS materials formulations to meet specific performance and property requirements
- Designing and conducting experiments to characterize material properties, such as mechanical strength, thermal stability, and optical properties
- Troubleshooting material-related issues and developing solutions to improve yield, quality, and reliability
- Collaborating with the quality assurance team to develop and implement testing protocols and standards for SLS materials
- Utilizing programming languages such as Matlab and Python to analyze data, model material behavior, and automate testing and characterization workflows
- Working closely with the manufacturing team to scale up material production and ensure seamless integration into Formlabs' manufacturing processes
