Software Engineer II - UI/UX Product Engineering

Build and ship frontier AI-powered experiences across Web, Windows, and Mobile that reimagine how students and educators learn, create, and accomplish their goals. Experiment with emerging AI technologies, models, agents, and new interaction patterns, rapidly turning promising ideas and prototypes into useful, production-quality product experiences. Create delightful, high-quality, responsive, accessible, and inclusive user experiences, with a solid attention to UX craftmanship and consistency across platforms, devices, and form factors. Design efficient, reusable front-end systems and architecture that enable the team build, test, deploy, and evolve complex product experiences efficiently. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Applied Science, and engineering partners to understand customer needs, explore what's newly possible with AI, and shape product and technical direction. Own product features end to end, from discovery and prototyping through implementation, testing, experimentation, rollout, telemetry, production health, and iteration. Build across the stack when the product requires it, including service and API integrations, data contracts, authentication, AI orchestration and grounding, experimentation, telemetry, and production diagnostics. Use AI as part of the engineering workflow, applying AI-assisted tools and agentic development approaches to accelerate exploration, coding, testing, debugging, and learning while maintaining high standards for quality, security, privacy, and responsible AI. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of software development experience developing web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React. Professional experience designing, developing, and shipping high-quality software. Experience building responsive and accessible web applications using TypeScript, React, or similar technologies. Experience developing object-oriented applications or services using C#, Java, C++, or a similar language. Experience designing or integrating APIs and working with distributed cloud services. Experience with public cloud services, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, GitHub Copilot CLI, Claude Code, or comparable tools, for coding, testing, debugging, code review, documentation, or developer-workflow automation. Ability to evaluate AI-generated output for correctness, maintainability, security, privacy, and licensing considerations and to apply appropriate human review before use. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in web applications or online services. Effective written and oral communication and collaboration skills. Discipline in applying modern software engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and releasing.
