 Technical Leadership & Architecture  Lead architecture and design for systems with significant scope and blast radius, ensuring decisions hold up under real growth, compliance, and reliability constraints; not just initial requirements.  Paying attention to application performance  Exercise judgment on where AI-assisted tooling accelerates delivery and where deeper human design thinking is required Cross-Team Collaboration  Partner with Product, UX, and other engineering teams early, shaping problems before solutions are locked in.  Build working relationships and technical credibility beyond your immediate team. Quality & Standards  Set engineering practices for code review norms, testing standards, and incident review rigor that outlast your direct involvement and get adopted by teams you don't sit on.  Identify and address systemic risk (technical debt, architectural drift, single points of failure) before it becomes an incident. Mentorship  Mentor Senior and mid-level engineers on technical judgment: how to scope ambiguity, when to escalate vs. decide, and how to use (and not over-rely on) AI tooling in their own work.  Help engineers build the skill of writing decisions down clearly enough that others can disagree productively.
