Staff Software Engineer

Acts as a project or system leader, coordinating the activities of other engineers on the project or within the system Determines the technical tasks that other engineers will follow Actions result in the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives Proactively improves existing structures & processes Exercises judgement in reconciling diverse and competing priorities (time, quality, complexity risk) to identify optimal solutions to problems Notices patterns and condenses repetition into densely meaningful generalized solutions Collaborates with management to set/improve standards for engineering rigor Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Understand the technical design of the system and actively participate in design reviews. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software systems and applications. Write clean and well-tested code across the stack with a focus on quality and maintainability. Identify performance bottlenecks and drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and security. Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to improve engineering velocity and code quality. Stay current with emerging technologies, especially in AI/ML, and evaluate their applicability to business problems. Plan and coordinate software releases, working with domain teams to ensure smooth deployments. 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in software design, architecture, and hands-on coding, along with practical experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to build smarter, more efficient systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions, mentor junior engineers, and drive engineering best practices. Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related area. 6-8 years of hands-on in Java, OO-based design and development. Strong skills in Server Side Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST, Maven, GitHub and distributed Database design, programming, tuning and query optimization. Test methodologies and testing tools, e.g., TestNG, JUnit. Full-SDLC cycle, with large-scale live roll-out participation as a developer. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems. The ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams across time zones is essential. Strong verbal and writing skills; ability to thoroughly understand product specifications and produce clear, concise documentation. Knowledge of QA automation processes and tools is preferred.
