Job Description Overview: Operations + Infrastructure: Infrastructure Reliability Engineering (IRE), operates and maintains best-in-class IT infrastructure services that are secure, scalable, and continuously available. Infrastructure Reliability Engineering (IRE) team is part of the Operations & Infrastructure technology organization. Our vision, mission and purpose are summarized as following: Vision - Deliver best-in-class Infrastructure on demand everywhere. Mission - As a member of the IRE team, you apply your expertise to carry out defined support functions. You help maintain critical applications and uphold service stability through focused maintenance activities. You drive automation initiatives, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation. You are proficient in production support processes, including incident, change, and problem management, call triage, and procedures for resolving critical issues. Purpose - increase innovation velocity of developers and reduce infrastructure maintenance overhead. Key Responsibilities: Experienced in infrastructure operations and production support for container and cloud platforms, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker. Skilled in deploying, configuring, scaling, and managing containerized applications; administering VMware ESXi and vSphere environments with vMotion, HA, DRS, and related vCenter tools. Proficient with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Helm, kubeadm, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, and Sysdig, plus configuration management using Ansible and Terraform. Strong scripting and automation capabilities to convert manual tasks into orchestrated workflows. contribute to standardized documentation and timely knowledge sharing. Partners with Platform, Engineering, and Delivery teams to deliver seamless infrastructure support across Visa business lines, while driving security remediation through vulnerability assessment and patch management and adhering to ITIL Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management practices. The ideal candidate is technology savy with good knowledge of Linux operating systems, container, Kubernetes and Microservices architecture; proficient in programming/scripting in Golang, Python or Ansible; familiar with CI/CD for development and deployment; with experience working on opensource projects, contributing and committing the code. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 6 Months to 2 Years of work experience. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent with 6month+ of relevant work experience.. Preferred Qualifications: Good understanding of Linux operating system, virtualization (OpenShift Virtualization, VSphere, Hyper-V) , containerization(Docker), container orchestration(Kubernetes) Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages, such as PowerShell, bash, Python, Perl or Go, and Docker Compose, Kubernetes deployment yaml construct and/or Helm charts Strong analytical skills, able to work independently to troubleshoot, solve complex engineering problems Experienced in building automated solutions through tools and orchestration engine that enable infrastructure to be provisioned, configured, changed and decommissioned through infrastructure life cycle in automated fashion Clear understanding of network OSI model and protocols, good concepts of network name spaces, network overlay and BGP, ready to troubleshoot and diagnose network/load balancer/firewall related issues Working knowledge of databases, middleware components and web applications, good understanding of the principles of microservices architecture Strong analytical skills, able to work independently to solve complex engineering Ready to collaborate with good communication skills Highly driven and resourceful.
